  My stay at The Nanee has been one of the most memorable experiences of my time in Nepal. More than a beautiful place to stay, The Nanee feels like a living bridge to the rich cultural heritage of Bhaktapur. Every detail—from the architecture and craftsmanship to the food, traditions, and warm hospitality—reflects a deep commitment to preserving and celebrating Newari culture. Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to experience not only the comfort of the space but also the heart behind it. Through conversations, local traditions, devotional music, pottery, and cultural celebrations, I felt genuinely welcomed into the spirit of the community. A special thank you to the entire staff for their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. Every interaction was filled with warmth, making me feel less like a guest and more like part of the family. The Nanee is doing something truly meaningful—creating a place where conscious travelers can connect with the living traditions of Bhaktapur while supporting the preservation of local culture and craftsmanship. I leave with beautiful memories, a deeper appreciation for Newari heritage, and immense gratitude for everyone who made this experience so special. Thank you for sharing your culture, your stories, and your hospitality. I hope to return again someday. 🙏🪷

  A Masterclass in Nepalese Hospitality The Nanee is more than just a hotel; it’s an experience. Walking through the candlelit hallway into the central atrium feels like stepping into a sanctuary. Our room was excellent—plenty of space for trekking luggage, a beautiful bathtub, and a terrace with views of the local community well and resilient historic architecture. We loved the communal dinner sitting at the long table, and the curated tours were expertly handled. The staff are the heart of this place: professional, warm, and always wearing a smile.

  The Nanee has been a stunning experience. The staff are utterly delightful and ensure your every need is met, including those you didn't know you needed, such as a personal dawn tour of the Square from the Manager! We visited in the midst of Dashain Festival, similar to our Christmas, when so many Nepali head home, making the warmth and hospitality of the Nanee team, even more heartfelt. As well as the staff, the rooms, food, design, and location were equally exceptional .. Get there people!

  I took my mom and aunt for dinner. The food served was too good. The fusion of newari cuisine was very delightful to watch and taste. My mom and aunt were very satisfied. Overall, the experience was very good.

  We didn't use the accommodation but ate at the restaurant. It was very nice. Service was great, good AC, food was great! I would love to visit again. It was a little difficult to find the entrance at first but very close to the square.

  Went here for lunch with some mates and was extremely disappointed with the food. Wrong items came and the food was tasteless. Would definitely NOT reccomend

  Staying at The Nanee feels like stepping back in time. The moment you step out, you are transported into centuries of rich history and heritage. The staff are extremely courteous, the rooms are comfortable, and the food is excellent. A perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. Highly recommended.

  Bhaktapur has centuries of art and genius and the Nanee reflects all the deep magic of Nepal, what a beautiful building filled with incredible art. What a wonderful restaurant and bar with the finest of foods. Location is ideal, the staff are pure heart. This is Nepal alive and thriving on the top of the world!

  We recommend this wonderful restaurant as it is a very peaceful and lovely place. It will serve you not just high quality food yet so much more. The atmosphere is unique and The waitstaff Akash, Manjila, Mr jack are all wonderfully sweet and personable. They will love to serve you and give you an amazing experience. We recommend the pumpkin soup which is rich and fully balanced, which comes with fresh homemade bread. We also really enjoyed Nanee style noodle soup that comes with wonderful mushrooms on top. The chef and the kitchen staff are providing beautifully curated meals that are clean and delicious. We highly recommend you come & enjoy for yourselves. Tell them you heard about it from Rockstar and Echo

  What an amazing find - a friend recommended this hotel as a great base to explore Bhaktapur and we weren’t disappointed! This small boutique hotel is tucked away in a courtyard very close to Bhaktapur Durbar Square (no more than 5 mins away) and we had a wonderful 2-night stay. The staff are outstanding and always responsive to any questions that you have. While you can just spend your time enjoying the unique architecture of the hotel based on Vaastu Shastra principles (similar to Feng shui), I recommend that you consider any of the cultural experiences that the hotel provides. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour and the 6-course contemporary Newari menu. All the other food in the restaurant is also delicious. The rooms are arranged around the courtyard and quite compact given the overall footprint of the hotel. Our group stayed in a standard, Prithvi and a Nepali suite and I would say that the Prithvi room was the best overall in terms of space and amenities. Thank you to Aditya-ji and the rest of his team for a memorable stay!

  Cozy place in the middle of the city. Our host advised us to just lose our way and immerse ourselves in experiencing the narrow alleys of the old town. We simply loved our stay. They were kind enough to arrange for us some vegetarian options for breakfast and you will definitely enjoy some of the cute little surprises they’ve in store for you. Also the artwork and detailing at property is incredibly beautifully done and they’ve done a great job at connecting themselves with the community that the property is part of.

  Had an amazing stay at The Nanee (06APR - 08APR)! Excellent customer service the moment I checked into my Loft Room. Very well designed property and room. Enjoyed the lookout view from my private balcony. Well layout bathroom. Enjoyed the Morning Walk, Evening Walking Tour, local artisan home visit and great introduction to the Newari traditional breakfast. Thank you so much to Ajay and Shailaja (the gracious owners), Aditya (the General Manager), Roshna (Receptionist), Kumar (F & B staff member) and the rest of the wonderful team at The Nanee! Your passion, dedication and commitment shows. You showed me your lovely city making it so memorable for many years to come!

  Outstanding hotel, extremely friendly staff, very clean, beautiful rooms, great design, the food was also great. It was the only hotel on our 2 weeks long trip through nepal that had proper bread for breakfast. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and we can safely say it was the best dinner we had in whole nepal. Very clean kitchen as well - you can watch the chefs through a large window. Location couldn’t be better, roof top terrace was also nice If there is one thing I would change it’s just that I would have loved to have some vegan milk alternatives for the coffee in the morning eg oat milk - but as you can see from this suggestion, literally everything else was a 5/5.

  A unique design, friendly service in the heart of Bhaktapur. Beds are very comfortable. Many experiences available during the stay. I recommend to spend 3 nights to grab the essence of the Newari culture.

  Fantastic boutique hotel with excellent amenities, helpful staff, and delicious food.   We flew to Nepal for the first time. When we were driving from Kathmandu airport, we looked at the city around and did not expect to get such an incredible hotel! 😍 The hotel is hidden among buildings on a narrow street, which is not accessible by car. And this is a pleasant surprise🤩 You walk into a fairy tale. The interior has a chic design, everything is in a modern style, very organic and clean. The staff is very polite and friendly, taking care of the guests. ❤️ We didn't meet any other tourists inside except the two of us. The hotel restaurant is very good, tasty and warm. Lots of food and drink menu options. 👌

  Great location, right next to Bhaktapur Durbar square. The rooms are very cozy and modern style. The beds are very comfortable, and the wifi is very fast. The hotel looks like a museum, full of local handicrafts and pices of local art. The staff is very helpful, we loved our stay here. The best of all is the food, I think we haven't had better food anywhere else during our 1 month stay in Nepal
